Known Behavior
The following are known behaviors that have been observed when a custom video source is enabled.
- For optimal use of Custom Video Source, it is recommended to use resolutions up to 720p. Certain Custom Video Source features may be degraded if higher resolutions are used.
- Video resolution will be downscaled when higher resolution is provided.
- Possibility of experiencing video freeze or black frames (mobile devices) issue when using higher resolutions.
- The Web Client SDK sends video in standard resolutions such as 90p, 180p, 360p, and 720p. Any non-standard resolutions will be downscaled to fit within these limits. To ensure the best experience, we recommend sending video in either 360p or 720p with an aspect ratio of either 16:9 or 4:3.
- Web Client SDK sends the video in the same resolution as the original (non-standard resolutions) source for Firefox Browser.
- Web Client SDK modifies properties of tracks provided (e.g.
track.enabledetc) for Custom Video Source, during operations like mute/unmute, etc. Reusing the same tracks in your application may sometimes cause side effects.
We are actively working on resolving these issues and plan to address them in upcoming releases.
